Pirates of the Spanish Main and Savage Worlds

I saw this and for the first time in years I said "I have to own this." What could be more fun to play than pirates? Savage Worlds is already a really cool game and this just makes it cooler. Some of my old gaming group expressed interest in learning Savage Worlds, maybe it will be a pirate adventure they learn on. Pirate babes everywhere also give their seal of approval for the game.

Lady Death

Someone please tel me what is going on in the cover of this comic? And who thought putting Lady Death and a fish in her... on the cover a good idea?

Star Frontiers

Head on over to the Evil DM’s blog, the link is over in my links, and check out his write up on Bill Logan’s work on bringing Star Frontiers back. Bill has even started a PDF magazine called the Star Frontiersman that should make any fan of the game happy.

I wonder how big the fan base there is for this game. Star Frontiers was one of those games my gaming group played some but just never caught on. I’m not sure why, I’ll have to go back and check the rules and adventures, maybe that will give me a reason. It just seems to me that as a group we were all sci-fi fans and a game set in space would appeal to us. One of those things that make you wonder why.

RIP Fabulous Moolah

We lost a legend in wrestling today. Read the obituary below, this lady was wrestling in her 60's and 70's!! That is impressive.

Lillian Ellison
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) _ Lillian Ellison, professional wrestling's Fabulous Moolah, died Friday. She was 84.
Ellison died Friday, according to Dunbar Funeral Home in Columbia.
Born Mary Lillian Ellison in 1923, she was dubbed the Fabulous Moolah after saying she wrestled "for the money ... for the moolah."
She was a longtime champion and the first woman inducted into the World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Fame. Her autobiography, "The Fabulous Moolah: First Goddess of the Squared Circle," was published in 2003.
Ellison grew up in the small Kershaw County community of Tookiedoo, the youngest of 13 children and the only girl.
Her daughter, Mary Austin, 66, said her mother had six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, loved her family and wrestling.
Her obituary from the funeral home lists 63-year-old Katie Glass of Columbia as Ellison's adopted daughter. Glass, known as "Diamond Lil," was a professional midget wrestler for 25 years. She said she was just 17 when she moved to Columbia to live with Ellison and learn to wrestle.
